Bal Bharati Public School, GRH Marg, held its Investiture Ceremony on 27 July 2026 to induct its newly elected Student Council for the 2026-27 academic session.
Following the school’s tradition, office bearers were selected separately for the Primary, Middle and Senior Departments. The 50-member council, supported by prefects from each class, will assist in maintaining discipline, promoting student leadership and upholding the school’s values and traditions.
Rahool Alwal, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, North-Eastern Region, Delhi Police, attended the ceremony as Chief Guest. PTA and alumni representatives, along with the parents of the newly elected council members, were also present.
The programme began with a ceremonial welcome by the NCC cadets and the school band, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and chanting of Vedic mantras. The choir presented Saraswati Vandana and the school anthem, Bal Bharati Ke Bachche Hum. Students also presented a classical dance performance based on Lord Shiva, followed by a Kathak Tarana.
The formal investiture ceremony was presided over by Alwal and school principal Deepak Dua. After the selection process was outlined, the newly elected office bearers were called to receive their badges and sashes. The outgoing Headboy and Headgirl formally handed over their responsibilities to their successors, marking the transition to the new council. Outgoing council members were also presented with certificates of appreciation.
The previous Headboy and Headgirl spoke about their experiences and learnings, followed by acceptance speeches from the newly appointed Headboy Ryan Sindhi of Class XI C and Headgirl Medha Gupta of Class XI C. They pledged to uphold the school’s values and traditions with sincerity, integrity and dedication.
Addressing the students, Alwal congratulated the newly appointed council and encouraged them to make use of opportunities to learn and grow. Referring to the growing role of artificial intelligence, he said that while technology may influence future careers, empathy, resilience, integrity, communication and collaboration would continue to be important qualities for leaders.
Vice Principal Vinita Dhawan delivered the vote of thanks and highlighted the school’s focus on promoting responsible citizenship among students in the school and wider community. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
