DeepGrade, an AI-based assessment platform developed by Smartail, is expanding across schools in India, with Gurukul High School Bengaluru among its early adopters.
The school, located in south Bengaluru, follows a Montessori approach focused on self-directed and experiential learning, and has integrated the platform into its academic processes to address changing assessment requirements.
Led by Dr. Gowri Prabha Prasad, who also serves as Secretary of the Bangalore Sahodaya Schools Complex Association, the institution has adopted DeepGrade to strengthen evaluation practices. The platform enables AI-based assessment of handwritten and digital responses using structured rubrics to ensure consistency in grading.
It also provides data-based insights to help reduce manual workload and support teaching. The system enables faster evaluation cycles, standardised grading, and analysis across student and institutional levels.
The platform helps identify learning gaps and supports timely academic intervention, while offering visibility into student progress for parents and school leadership.
Aslam Sherieff, Co-Founder and Chief Growth Officer of Smartail, said the platform is designed to support educators with consistent evaluation and clear insights, allowing greater focus on teaching.
Dr. Gowri Prabha Prasad said the system enables teachers to analyse student learning patterns and provides a structured framework to track academic progress.
The collaboration reflects the use of AI in assessment processes, combining teaching practices with technology to support learning outcomes.
