The Centre for Teacher Accreditation (CENTA®) has concluded the 10th edition of the International Teaching Professionals’ Open (TPO), the world’s largest global competition for teachers, marking a decade of recognising teaching excellence worldwide.
International TPO 2025 attracted over 200,000 registrations from more than 100 countries, with around 3,000 educators qualifying for the global finals. While India continued to contribute a significant share of participants, the competition also saw strong representation from Asia, Africa, and the GCC, underlining the growing global reach of CENTA’s India-led professional assessment framework.
The competition evaluated teachers on subject mastery, pedagogy, classroom practice, and continuous professional development. Participants qualified through multiple pathways, including learning on the CENTA app, performance in the CENTA Teaching Quotient assessment, and nominations from institutions. Notably, the governments of Jharkhand and Odisha nominated teachers this year, reflecting increasing institutional adoption of CENTA’s standards.
Results of the international competition will be announced on January 31, 2026. Winners will receive cash prizes totalling INR 30 lakh (USD 35,000), along with global certifications, fellowships, and media recognition.
International TPO 2025 was conducted in partnership with institutions such as the University of California Santa Cruz and Oxford University Press, offering participants opportunities including international certifications, science internships, and academic mentorships.
Highlighting the significance of the initiative, CENTA Founder and CEO Ramya Venkataraman said the platform aims to address the global challenge of recognising and supporting teachers as skilled professionals by linking competencies with career opportunities and professional growth.
Aligned with India’s National Education Policy 2020 and the National Professional Standards for Teachers, CENTA continues to build a global ecosystem for educators. The platform today connects 1.9 million teachers across more than 170 countries, driving large-scale improvement in teaching quality and learning outcomes.
