Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the satirical social media platform Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has announced that he will return to India on June 6 to launch a peaceful protest demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak controversy. In a video shared on CJP’s Instagram handle on Monday, Dipke called on students and citizens to unite and seek accountability through democratic means.
“The time has come for all of us to come together, following the path of the Constitution of India, and peacefully raise our voices to demand Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation,” Dipke said. “If we raise our voices together, they will definitely have to listen to us.” He also announced that he would arrive in Delhi on June 6 and urged supporters to join him at the airport before proceeding to the Parliament Street Police Station to seek permission for a protest at Jantar Mantar.
In a statement posted on Instagram, CJP said the campaign had already gathered more than 8 lakh signatures on a petition seeking the minister’s resignation but alleged that there had been no accountability despite the public support. “The time has come to transform our social media movement into a peaceful protest,” the post said. The group further claimed that examination-related controversies involving NEET, CBSE, CUET and SSC GD had affected the futures of more than one crore students, adding that “our Constitution gives us the right to raise our voices peacefully, and that is exactly what we will do.”
The announcement comes days after the Delhi High Court declined to order the immediate unblocking of CJP’s account on X. Dipke said the proposed demonstration would remain peaceful and constitutional, describing it as a collective movement by students and citizens seeking greater accountability in the education system.
