The East Point Group of Institutions hosted the East Point Industry Leadership Conclave (EPILC) 2026, bringing together executives from companies across sectors including banking, networking, cloud computing, semiconductor and product engineering to discuss collaboration between industry and academia.
Held under the theme “Shaping the Future Workforce”, the conclave focused on preparing students for changing industry requirements and improving fresher hiring outcomes.
The event featured a panel discussion titled “Building Sustainable Talent Pipelines: The Role of Institutions in a Changing Workforce”, where industry representatives discussed shifts in recruitment and the need for institutions to equip students with skills suited to workplace demands.
Panelists highlighted learning agility and adaptability as key competencies alongside technical knowledge. They also emphasised the need for regular curriculum reviews and industry-integrated projects to ensure students are prepared for professional roles.
Speakers noted that sustained collaboration between institutions and companies is essential for building long-term talent pipelines, rather than relying on one-off recruitment drives. They also stressed the need for academia to align with emerging technologies and evolving job roles.
According to the institution, the conclave recorded over 90 per cent partnership intent among participating organisations and achieved a satisfaction score of 4.7 out of 5.
Rajiv Gowda, CEO of East Point Group of Institutions, said the event was designed as a leadership dialogue focused on connecting academic learning with industry challenges.
Student placement coordinators also participated in the conclave, working with industry delegates as part of the institution’s placement initiatives.
Organisers said the discussions underscored the need for structured collaboration between industry and academia as workforce requirements continue to evolve.
