Magic Bus India Foundation, in collaboration with Guru Krupa Foundation, has launched a three-year programme to support adolescents through life skills education and foundational learning in Raichur district.
Titled “Shaping Futures: Delivering Life Skills Education and Bridging Learning Gaps of Adolescents”, the initiative will reach 1,000 adolescents aged 12–14 years across Grades 6 to 8, with a majority of participants being girls. The programme will be implemented across eight government schools in the district.
The intervention combines in-school life skills sessions with support in Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN). It follows a cohort-based approach, with Community Learning Centres providing additional academic support for students with learning gaps. The curriculum covers 11 life skills across social, emotional and cognitive areas, delivered through activity-based and experiential methods.
Sessions will be led by trained educators and facilitators, supported by home-based learning and ongoing assessments. The programme also includes engagement with parents, teachers and school leaders to support learning outcomes and participation.
The initiative aims to improve attendance, retention and engagement in school, while strengthening life skills and reducing learning gaps. It also seeks to support adolescents in making informed decisions about education and future pathways.
Jayant Rastogi said the partnership focuses on enabling adolescents to remain in education, build resilience and contribute to long-term development goals.
Mukund Padmanabhan said the programme supports a structured approach to adolescent development by combining education with practical life skills and community engagement.
The initiative reflects a joint effort to strengthen education outcomes and support adolescent development through collaboration between organisations and local stakeholders.
