The pass percentage is 92.09 in the Secondary School Certificate (Class 10) examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education in February-March 2026, the results of which were declared on Friday.
A total of 15,55,026 students from nine divisional boards of the state namely Pune, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Amravati, Nashik, Latur and Konkan had registered for the examination. Of these, 15,42,472 students wrote the exams and 14,20,486 students passed. The overall pass percentage stood at 92.09
Among the total number of students who passed, the proportion of students who passed in the first division with distinction is 27.41 percent, 31.26 percent passed in the first division, 24.66 percent in the second division, and 8.75 percent in the pass category.
From the total of 8,20,427 boys who appeared for the exam, 7,34,814 boys (89.56 percent) passed and out of a total of 7,22,045 girls, 6,85,672 girls (94.96 percent) passed. The pass percentage of girls is 5.40 % higher.
Addressing the students during a press conference in Mumbai, school education minister Dadaji Bhuse said “those who did not get the expected success in the examination should not get tired. Since the opportunity of re-examination is available , take advantage of it. The result of one exam cannot determine your entire life or your intelligence. So do not get discouraged and try again. Students are the future of Maharashtra.The government is with you. ”
Minister Bhuse had special congratulations for students who achieved success in the examination with hard work and determination, as well as the teachers and parents who guided them.
The Konkan division has recorded the best results ( 97.62 percent pass) while the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division performed worst with a pass percentage of 88.41. Among other divisions, the Kolhapur division has a result of 95.47 percent pass, Mumbai – 94.97, Pune – 94.24, Nashik – 90.53, Amravati – 90.50, Nagpur – 89.07 while Latur recorded a pass percentage of 88.42.
Students who wrote the Maharashtra State Board exam in February-March 2026 and passed in all subjects are being given three opportunities to appear for ‘Grade Improvement/Mark Improvement’ in the Class 10 exam of June-July 2026, February-March 2027 and June-July 2027.
