Ryan International Academy Wagholi organised a used uniform and textile collection drive in collaboration with ReCircle to promote recycling and reduce textile waste.
The initiative invited students and parents to donate used school uniforms, clothes, bedsheets and other household textiles. The programme aligns with philanthropy, one of the principles outlined by Augustine Pinto under the institution’s 12 Point Vision.
Collected uniforms will undergo debranding to remove school identifiers before being processed at ReCircle’s textile recovery facility. Items will be sorted for reuse, recycling or repurposing to minimise environmental impact.
The school reported strong participation from parents, with contributions meeting guidelines on cleanliness and usability. The drive aims to divert textile waste from landfills and supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The institution said such initiatives highlight the role of schools in promoting environmental awareness and responsible practices.
