Mussoorie International School hosted the BSAI Student Leadership Conclave 2026 from 8th to 10th May 2026. The conclave brought together enthusiastic young leaders from various residential schools across the country for three days of collaboration, experiential learning, and leadership development.
Through motivational talks, strategic activities, team-building exercises, and intellectual discussions, the conclave aimed to nurture responsible, confident, and globally aware student leaders.
Prefectorial Body Report 2026
The BSAI Student Leadership Conclave, hosted at Mussoorie International School from May 8 to May 10, 2026, was an enriching and transformative experience for all participating students. From the school captain’s perspective, the conclave successfully created a platform that encouraged leadership, collaboration, confidence-building, and global awareness among young leaders from different schools.
The programme began with the arrival and registration of delegates, followed by an engaging inauguration ceremony that set an inspiring tone. Maj. General Sanjay Sharma’s motivational address emphasised discipline, resilience, and purposeful leadership, encouraging students to reflect on leading with integrity and courage in today’s rapidly changing world.
One of the most impactful aspects of the conclave was the series of ice-breaking and team-building activities conducted in the sports arena. These activities enabled students from diverse backgrounds to connect, collaborate, and build trust. As school captains, it was evident how quickly barriers dissolved, fostering unity and mutual respect among delegates.
Day two focused on strategic thinking and real-world leadership challenges. The Outdoor Strategy & Skill Arena tested teamwork, adaptability, and problem-solving under pressure. Ms. Priya Zadu’s session further inspired delegates to lead with empathy, determination, and emotional intelligence.
The Geopolitics Case Study Forum emerged as a key intellectual highlight, where students discussed global issues, exchanged perspectives, and proposed thoughtful solutions. This reinforced the importance of informed, socially responsible leadership.
Col. Neel’s leadership talk was another defining moment, offering powerful insights on perseverance, accountability, and service before self. The Outdoor Challenge Series II provided opportunities for participants to apply these lessons in practical, team-based scenarios.
The conclave also fostered creativity and camaraderie through a Jam Session and Musical Extravaganza, where students showcased their talents and strengthened bonds beyond formal sessions. These interactions played a crucial role in encouraging cultural exchange and lasting friendships.
The final day featured “Champions Mindset: Leadership through Sports,” highlighting the connection between sportsmanship and leadership qualities such as discipline, teamwork, and resilience. The valedictory ceremony and certificate distribution marked the successful conclusion of the conclave, leaving participants inspired and motivated.
Overall, from the prefectorial perspective, the conclave was a meaningful and memorable experience that nurtured confidence, broadened perspectives, and empowered young leaders to become responsible global citizens.
Day 1
Opening Ceremony
The conclave commenced with the arrival and registration of delegates, followed by a formal briefing and group photograph. The inauguration ceremony officially marked the beginning of the event, setting an inspiring tone for the days ahead.
Delegates were warmly welcomed by the organisers, who emphasised the significance of leadership rooted in collaboration, empathy, and service.
Motivational Address: Maj. General Sanjay Sharma
Maj. General Sanjay Sharma delivered a keynote session, sharing valuable lessons on discipline, resilience, and leadership drawn from his experiences in the armed forces. He encouraged students to face challenges with courage and integrity, emphasising that true leadership is demonstrated through actions and responsibility towards others.
His inspiring words motivated delegates to reflect upon their own leadership journeys and aspirations.
Ice-Breaking and Team Building Session I
The evening continued with an engaging ice-breaking and team-building session in the sports arena. Delegates participated in interactive activities designed to strengthen communication, cooperation, and trust among peers from different schools.
These activities encouraged students to step out of their comfort zones, build new friendships, and develop teamwork skills that would support them throughout the conclave and beyond.
The day concluded with dinner and informal interactions, creating a welcoming and collaborative atmosphere.
Day 2
Outdoor Strategy & Skill Arena
The second day began with an energetic Outdoor Strategy & Skill Arena session. Through various challenges and problem-solving tasks, delegates explored the importance of strategic thinking, adaptability, and teamwork.
The activities tested participants’ leadership abilities under pressure while encouraging creative collaboration and effective decision-making.
Motivational Address: Ms Priya Zadu
Ms Priya Zadu, a renowned social worker, skill developer, and educationist, delivered an inspiring session on self-awareness, confidence, and emotional intelligence in leadership.
She emphasised the importance of empathy, communication, and perseverance, encouraging students to lead with compassion and authenticity.
Geopolitics Case Study Forum
One of the most intellectually stimulating sessions was the Geopolitics Case Study Forum. Delegates engaged in discussions on contemporary global challenges and international affairs.
Students collaboratively analysed case studies, exchanged diverse perspectives, and proposed thoughtful solutions, highlighting the importance of informed and responsible leadership in a globalised world.
Leadership Talk: Col. Neel
Col. Neel delivered a thought-provoking talk based on his experiences in leadership and service. He spoke about accountability, perseverance, and the value of leading by example.
He emphasised that leadership is not defined by authority but by the ability to inspire and support others. Sharing real-life experiences from the Army, he left the audience inspired with the message that every end is a new beginning when approached with a positive mindset.
Outdoor Challenge Series II & Musical Evening
The evening featured another round of outdoor leadership challenges, where students applied the lessons learned throughout the day. Delegates demonstrated collaboration, strategic planning, and resilience.
The day concluded with a lively Jam Session and Musical Extravaganza in the school auditorium. Students showcased their talents through music and performances, strengthening bonds and celebrating cultural diversity.
The finale featured a special performance by the school’s music teachers, presenting a fusion of classical and contemporary music.
Day 3
Champions Mindset: Leadership through Sports
The final day began with a session on Champions Mindset: Leadership through Sports. The session highlighted the relationship between sportsmanship and leadership, focusing on discipline, teamwork, resilience, and determination.
Delegates learned how sports can cultivate confidence and perseverance both on and off the field. The session included basketball games, reinforcing teamwork, rules, and discipline in a fun environment.
Valedictory Ceremony & Certificate Distribution
The conclave concluded with a valedictory ceremony, where participants reflected on their experiences and key takeaways from the three-day programme.
Certificates were distributed in recognition of active participation and contribution. The closing remarks emphasised the importance of carrying forward the values of integrity, collaboration, and responsible leadership into everyday life.
