Prestige University Indore’s campus has been named a Jury Winner in the Higher Education & Research Facilities category at the 2026 Architizer A+ Awards, a global architecture awards programme based in New York.
The campus, designed by Sanjay Puri Architects, was selected ahead of finalists including the University of Toronto and Rice University.
Established in 2022, Prestige University Indore received the recognition for its 32-acre campus, which features a stepped architectural design incorporating 463 terraces across a rooftop landscape spanning about 9,000 square metres. The terraces serve as open spaces for students and faculty.
The campus integrates naturally lit courtyards, shaded outdoor areas and north-facing light sources to reduce reliance on artificial lighting and cooling. It has also received an Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Platinum rating.
The Architizer A+ Awards recognise architecture and built environment projects from around the world, with winners selected by a jury comprising architects, designers and cultural figures.
“A campus is not a backdrop to education. It is part of how people learn. The way a building invites students and faculty to gather, move and spend time together shapes the experience of studying here,” said Prof. Keyoor Purani, Vice-Chancellor of Prestige University Indore.
The recognition comes as the university expands its academic programmes in management and computing.
