The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to submit details of the steps taken to implement the recommendations of the Radhakrishnan Committee and the Nandan Nilekani-led task force on NEET reforms.
A bench of Justices P.S. Narasimha and Alok Aradhe said reforms in the examination system needed to be institutionalised and asked Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to file a fresh affidavit.
Mehta informed the court about the safeguards followed from the printing of NEET question papers until their distribution to candidates. He said multiple moderators prepare question banks without knowing which questions will appear in the examination. Vehicles transporting question papers are also tracked through GPS, with their movements recorded.
The court was hearing a batch of petitions, including one filed by advocate Tanvi Dubey on behalf of the Federation of All India Medical Association.
The Ministry of Education constituted the seven-member Radhakrishnan Committee following the NEET-UG paper leak to recommend reforms in examination procedures, data security protocols and the functioning of the NTA.
The government also formed a task force led by Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani to recommend structural reforms for NEET examinations.
