TeamLease Degree Apprenticeship has expanded its AI-integrated apprenticeship programmes after completing a pilot involving 300 apprentices across leading organisations in April 2026.
The programmes combine practical AI training with apprenticeship opportunities for both white-collar and blue-collar roles, allowing participants to develop workplace AI skills while earning stipends. According to the company, apprentices receive stipends that are nearly twice those offered under conventional apprenticeship programmes.
The curriculum includes modules on AI Fundamentals, Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, Generative AI for Developers, Python and Large Language Models (LLMs), with additional modules available based on employer requirements. The programmes have been co-developed with universities, academic partners and industry experts, and are certified by the TeamLease Foundation. The curriculum is updated regularly to reflect developments in AI technologies.
TeamLease said early outcomes from the pilot showed a 20-25 per cent improvement in apprentice productivity. Around 40 per cent of apprentices secured employment with their training organisation, while more than 90 per cent found opportunities within the same industry.
The company said the programmes are designed for cross-industry use, with the highest demand coming from sectors that are early adopters of emerging technologies.
Dr Nipun Sharma, CEO of TeamLease Degree Apprenticeship, said AI had become an essential workplace skill and that apprenticeship-based learning could help bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application. He said the programmes aim to equip apprentices with workplace-ready AI capabilities while helping employers build an AI-ready workforce.
