BITS Pilani, through its Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP), has inaugurated a new B.Tech batch for employees of Tata AutoComp Systems, expanding its industry-academia collaboration with the automotive company.
The programme is designed to help Tata AutoComp employees pursue a formal engineering degree while continuing to work. The curriculum focuses on areas including mechanical systems, manufacturing processes and Internet of Things (IoT) applications in mobility, with an emphasis on practical workplace learning.
According to BITS Pilani WILP, the programme aims to equip professionals with engineering and technology skills relevant to the changing requirements of the mobility, manufacturing and Industry 4.0 sectors.
Prof. P.B. Venkataraman, Dean of BITS WILP, said the initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to supporting continuous learning and preparing professionals to contribute to innovation and manufacturing advancement.
Arvind Goel, Vice-Chairman of Tata AutoComp Systems, said the collaboration would help the company develop skills required for emerging technologies, including electric and hybrid vehicles, artificial intelligence, machine learning and Industry 4.0.
Manoj Kolhatkar, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Tata AutoComp Systems, said the programme would enable employees to apply their learning to workplace projects while strengthening the company’s capability in technology adoption and product development.
The partnership is expected to support the development of a skilled workforce and strengthen Tata AutoComp’s technological capabilities as the automotive sector undergoes rapid transformation.
