MBD Group has launched the AASOKA Science Kit Distribution Initiative under its social impact programme, Ashok Karya, with an investment of nearly ₹2.5 crore to support experiential science learning in schools.
Announced during the inaugural Ashok Samvad conclave held on the 81st birth anniversary of the group’s founder, Shri Ashok Kumar Malhotra, the initiative aims to distribute science kits to 400 schools across India, benefiting around 25,000 Grade 6 students. The programme also includes teacher training, with plans under consideration to expand the initiative to 800 schools.
Designed primarily for budget schools, the AASOKA Science Kits include experiment materials, printed learning resources and digital support videos to help teachers introduce activity-based science learning in classrooms.
The Ashok Samvad conclave, held at MBD House in New Delhi, brought together educators, school leaders, entrepreneurs and representatives from more than 100 schools across Delhi-NCR. The event featured discussions on leadership, education, innovation, sustainability and social development.
Speaking at the event, MBD Group Chairperson Satish Bala Malhotra said the conclave was inspired by the founder’s values of service, integrity and community contribution. Managing Director Monica Malhotra Kandhari said the platform was intended to encourage collaboration across sectors while supporting initiatives such as the AASOKA Science Kit programme to improve access to experiential learning. Joint Managing Director Sonica Malhotra Kandhari said the initiative reflected the group’s commitment to expanding access to quality education and supporting communities through collaborative action.
The science kit programme forms part of Ashok Karya, MBD Group’s social impact movement focused on education, innovation, environmental sustainability, mental well-being, animal welfare and community outreach. It also builds on the group’s Main Bhi Ashok campaign launched in 2025.
As part of the Founder’s Day commemorations, MBD Group also organised CSR initiatives across India covering education, skill development, environmental sustainability and community welfare. School leaders attending the conclave said the science kit initiative would help make science education more practical and activity-based in classrooms.
